Hey there, lovely souls of Brookings! I'm Shelon, your neighbor and the proud owner of Blend Salon Studio. As a native of this vibrant town, I've always been inspired by it's beauty and warmth of it's people.
At Blend, I've created more than just a salon - It's a sanctuary where creativity flows and community thrives. With specialties in lived-in colors, lash extensions, hair extensions, and anything bridal, I'm passionate about bringing out your natural beauty and helping you feel your absolute best! My goal is to make every visit feel like coming home. Where you can relax, , unwind, and leave feeling refreshed and empowered.
When I'm not creating, you can find me spending time with my family, traveling, kayaking, or attending a variety of concerts at many venues!

My name is Michaela Landberg.
Hey there! I’m Michaela, but you can call me Michi—the blonde here at Blend. My love affair with hair started early. Picture this : a little girl, waking her mom up at 5 a.m. to style her hair before she left for work, only to go back to sleep sitting up to preserve the look. By high school, I was the go-to for box dye highlights in the basement, garage haircuts, and prom makeovers. What began as a fun hobby has blossomed into a full-blown passion. ✨
I live for dramatic transformations—bring on the bold color and cut combos! I also specialize in creating gorgeous, low-maintenance colors and effortlessly lived-in blondes.
When I’m not creating hair magic, you can find me cherishing every moment with my amazing husband, Connor, and our three wonderful kids. Connor and I met while attending SDSU and fell in love with the charm of Brookings. The perfect little place to raise our family. Our daughter Leighton (9), and our two adventurous sons, Cruz (5) and Kove (2), are the center of our universe. My world revolves around them... and a good cup of coffee. ☕️

My name is Mckenzie Raftevold.
From growing up in the charming town of Volga, SD, watching my mom work wonders with hair, to chasing my own dreams, my journey to becoming a hairstylist has been nothing short of magical. After honing my skills at Josef’s School of Hair Design in Fargo, ND, I spent seven fabulous years behind the chair in Fargo, where I not only mastered the art of hairstyling but also found love and started a beautiful family.
Now settled back in South Dakota with my husband, Dylan and our adorable kiddos, Stevie and Wilder, life is busier than ever, but oh-so-sweet. When I’m not creating magic with hair, you'll find me immersed in the pages of a good book, tackling a challenging puzzle, or embracing adventure in the great outdoors—camping and rock climbing are my summer jams!
